Bruckner was a Hollywood Californian, born to Hungarian parents and Russian mothers who had separated. Bruckner's paternal grandmother was German. The daughter is of Budapest-born parents who came to Hungary. Her family emigrated to U.S.A. through an Italian refugee camp in 1984. Her siblings include two sisters and a brother.
